CASA Experiences

Sean and Noeleen

This is Jennifer’s story after eleven years in CASA from her parents' perspective.

Jennifer’s special needs in education took her outside her locality. To be part of a peer group was very difficult. By the age of twenty one and like all young people of that age, she wanted and needed friendships. A manager at her workplace suggested CASA as a group who could provide the social outlet that a girl like Jennifer would need.

Embracing the principle of One to One helped her to fit with ease into the CASA family. Over this time she has enjoyed socials and holiday breaks to Swords and Malahide. These times of respite have been invaluable to us as parents. The friendships Jennifer has made in the CASA family has helped to make her a happy confident person.
When asked what CASA has meant to her she replied “Being with my friends.”
