CASA - How It Changed My Life For The Better

This person, whom I had never previously met, was going to be my hands, my friend and my confidant for the week. I have also been to Lourdes with CASA and there I found great peace and healing, especially during CASA masses where I truly believe that Our Lady was with us. My life took a really bad turn in January 2002 when my fiancee was killed. My family was very supportive, but I thought all my friends in CASA were outstanding and helped me to realise that if I can maintain a positive mind, stay focused and on the right path, I won't go too far wrong.

CASA has really changed my live, giving me hope, confidence, friendship and restoring my faith in humanity. Now, when people stare, it doesn't bother me. I now have the confidence to just look away instead of getting upset and angry. I feel happy, fulfilled and contented. CASA has really changed my life and I honestly believe that had I not joined CASA, I wouldn't be happy. In CASA, people don't see your disability. What they see and value is the real person, recognising the unique gifts and talents that we all have. CASA has become my extended family and always will be.
